News

Things here in Peru are pretty good. I got to go to one of the seven wonders of the world: Machu Pichu. It was really awesome. For those of you who dun know, Machu Pichu is an abandoned Inca city waaaaaay high on a mountain top. The stone work is great, the veiw, although scary (it´s lots of miles if you were to fall), is awesome, and the experience is wonderful!

Cusco, the capital of Peru is really pretty. It´s still dirtier and a lot more impovrished then the US cities, but I really like it. We stayed there for 5 days in a nice hotel, and went to see all these Inca ruins (and went shopping for stuff you could get for a miniscule price).

I´ve also kind of gotten used to the taxi rides (it´s two soles if you go anywhere in the city limits, about 66 cents in USD). Although going 80km/h on high, curvy mountain roads is a bit too much...

The bad news is, when we left our stuff at the hotel to go to Aguas Callientes (sp?) for a night (the town you have to go to to get to Machu Pichu), my box of 120 PrismaColor colored pencils got stolen... One of the cleaning ladies took them. grr... We went to the manager, who said he would ´look into it´ but he never did. Man, those pencils cost me a fortune... :sigh: Anna, do ya mind waiting a while for your picture to get colored? Sorry I keep putting it off...

Well, I´m coming back Tuesday morning, the day school starts, at 1:00 in the morning!!! 7 hours before school starts! I´ll be spending all tomorrow travelling. Our wake-up call is at 3:00! So much for starting the last quarter of school refreshed...
